Last week, we kicked off Soup Days with 10 Restaurants Across Canada Offering Comforting Soups for Takeout. As we continue the celebration alongside, and in support of, restaurants from coast to coast, we wanted to show a little love to delicious soups discovered along the way.

Soup is not only beloved in a long Canadian winter, but every country across the globe also has their own take on the comforting dish; from Miso (Japan) to Gazpacho (Spain) to Minestrone (Italy). Our country’s own? The French-Canadian Split Pea Soup, finished with smoked ham.

Plus there are so many bases to choose from; meat, noodle, veggie, puree, stock, broth. If you can think it, you can soup it.

Or, as our friends at Campbell’s say, “soup is like a warm hug, treat yourself today.”

Tip: Not hungry now? Freeze it for later or share it in a thermos for a child or loved one.

However you like it, join us Soup Days and don’t forget to tag your soup takeout on Instagram @CanadaTakeout & #TakeoutDay!
