Jimmy The Greek Scores Major Partnership as Official Greek Restaurant of Toronto FC
TORONTO, April 2, 2025 – When food and fandom come together, it’s a win for the whole community. Beloved quick-service restaurant and Canadian family business, Jimmy The Greek, has just been announced as the Official Greek Restaurant of Toronto FC, kicking off a multi-year partnership that celebrates shared values: tradition, passion, and community.
This exciting collaboration comes at a monumental time for Jimmy The Greek, as the brand celebrates 40 years of serving fresh, authentic Greek meals across the country.
“Toronto FC represents passion, tradition, and a strong connection to the community — values that align closely with our own,” says James Mitrothanasis, Director of Network Development at Jimmy The Greek. “As a Toronto-born brand, we’re thrilled to support the team and its incredible fans.”
As part of this partnership, Jimmy The Greek will become the first-ever brand to present all pre-match player walkout ceremonies during regular season home games. Fans can also look forward to a special promotional night and other on- and off-the-pitch activations that celebrate both the game and Toronto’s vibrant Greek-Canadian culture.
“As two organizations with community at the forefront, we are proud to partner with Jimmy The Greek to further our shared commitment to engaging fans across the GTA,” adds Jordan Vader, Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships at MLSE.
A Growing Legacy, 40 Years in the Making
Jimmy The Greek first opened its doors in downtown Toronto in 1985, offering quick-service versions of the same high-quality meals and warm hospitality found at the Antonopoulos family’s original fine-dining restaurant, Epikourion, which launched in 1977. Today, the brand boasts over 55 locations nationwide and is continuing to grow — most recently with the opening of its first dine-in concept restaurant last year.
“We’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead,” says Nicole Mitrothanasis, Director of Operations. “This partnership is a pivotal moment, not just in celebrating our history, but in shaping our future. We can’t wait to bring fans and customers together in new and exciting ways.”
Whether you’re grabbing a souvlaki on your lunch break or cheering on Toronto FC with a gyro in hand, Jimmy The Greek is here to feed the fandom — one delicious bite at a time.
