5 Places Offering Sumptuous Holiday Takeout Meals in Vancouver

Written by Vivian Chung

Put together a memorable holiday meal for friends and family from the comfort of your home this year. Instead of slaving away in the kitchen for the day, skip the prepping, cooking and cleaning by ordering takeout so all you have to do is reheat and serve. Here’s where in Vancouver to pick up some succulent takeout spreads to wow your guests.

H Tasting Lounge

Best known for serving up classic Pacific Northwest favourites like poke bowls, fish tacos and seafood linguine, H Tasting Lounge is offering a classic turkey dinner this year with five sumptuous sides. Sink your teeth into apricot sage stuffing, roasted root vegetables and buttermilk mashed potatoes along with a whole-roasted Fraser Valley turkey. Then end the meal on a sweet note with some chocolate hazelnut yule log. This epic feast generously serves six to eight. Let your guests know what you’re serving by making a menu card for the table, which is also a thoughtful way to list any allergens. Preorder by December 19.

Railtown Cafe

For the tenth year in a row, Railtown will be offering their highly popular Turkey To-Go Package, which features an 18 lb sage-roasted turkey and an assortment of festive sides, like maple-glazed sweet potatoes and dried apricot chestnut stuffing. Railtown conveniently offers this turkey feast in a half-size package, which serves five to six guests for a more intimate gathering. Their full-size package serves ten to twelve guests if you’re hosting a more buzzy dinner party. Preorder by December 21.

The Lazy Gourmet

One of Vancouver’s first catering companies is serving up a gourmet feast this holiday season. For vegetarians, its sage and orange roasted turkey can be substituted with the beet wellington, and its main is accompanied by sides like parmesan mashed potatoes and chili lemon broccolini. If you’re catering to bigger parties, don’t feel compelled to sit around the table like a traditional party. Make it buffet style, which is an efficient and comfortable way to serve bigger parties, and it still allows everyone to mingle over dinner. Preorder by December 16.
