Five Bubble Tea Cafes To Burst Your Boba!

Bubble tea is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s – The classic bubble tea recipe is black tea brewed with milk and sugar, then poured over ice and starchy tapioca balls, that are so fun to chew on.

In the 1990s, Taiwanese immigrants brought bubble tea to North America, landing first in California, but the drink has also spread to other countries where there is a large East Asian diaspora population. Since then Bubble Tea or more popularly known as “boba” has taken the world by storm, including right here in Canada!

On April 26th we celebrate National Bubble Tea Day and what better day to dive into a fresh boba brew. Take a sip at any of these five cafes serving up a broad range of bubble teas for your sipping pleasure!
