Top Ten Taco Restaurants Across Canada

Season 2 of Jarritos’ Super Good Taco Tour is on! They’re touring across this great country in search of the perfect tacos.

With over 500 taco spots featured on the Taco Tour website, we couldn’t decide on just one favourite — so here’s a list of the top ten spots for tasty tacos across Canada.

La Cantina Tacos (Whistler, BC)

Fun and relaxed taqueria, La Cantina, is bringing a taste of authentic Mexican street food to Whistler, BC, offering tacos, burritos, quesadillas, salads, and soups made fresh daily with plenty of gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options available.

Try their Beef Pasilla marinated in a smoky chili sauce or check out the Poblanas, a delicious veggie option in a cream sauce.

La Taqueria Mexican St. Tacos (Winnipeg, MB)

Chef Cristhel Pipper decided to bring a little taste of her home in Córdaba, Mexico to Winnipeg with a popular La Taqueria food truck. After their food truck was met with great reception from Winnipeg diners seeking authentic Mexican cuisine, she and her husband, Lyle Jackman, opened up their very own restaurant.

The menu features authentic Mexican classics like Cochinita Pibil and Mole Chicken, and they offer a vegan Al Pastor made with sautéed mushrooms and topped with pineapple salsa.

La Roca (Winnipeg, MB)

La Roca serves up elevated Mexican cuisine, and you can order for takeout or delivery or dine in at Winnipeg’s largest Mexican restaurant with two deluxe patios and live music every Thursday to Saturday.

Make sure to stop by on Taco Tuesday for $12 Taco Trios and enjoy flavours like Crispy Shrimp and Pastor, a marinated pork taco topped with grilled pineapple.

Tres Carnales Taqueria (Edmonton, AB)

A restaurant inspired by the founders’ many days spent eating delicious concoctions on a side street or near a beach somewhere in Pacific Mexico, Tres Carneles Taqueria has become a local destination for the real Mexican food experience in Edmonton.
