I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream

POV: it’s the middle of July, you’re sweating your buns off in the backyard, and you hear those familiar, tinny notes over the loudspeaker as the ice cream truck announces its presence on your block. A rush of adrenaline floods your body as you grab whatever change you can scrounge up, run down the street to catch up with the truck and order your soft serve chocolate sundae. Life is good.

Beyond pleasant pangs of nostalgia, ice cream tends to hold a special place in our hearts – dripping over the edge of a crispy waffle cone, as the perfect accoutrement to our favourite pie, or frozen in between crumbly cookie layers of an ice cream cake.

COWS has been churning out old fashioned ice cream since their humble beginnings on the Cavendish Boardwalk of PEI in 1983. Visit one of their 11 Canadian locations today, and you’re in for a treat. Earnest began in 2012 with two friends and an ice cream tricycle at the Vancouver Farmers Market. Now at each of their four scoop shops around Vancouver, they are living out their namesake values every day. They are serving up seriously good ice cream in ways that put kindness to the earth at the forefront of their business. Le Glacier Bilboquet is an ice cream institution in Quebec. What began as an artisanal shop in Outrement has grown into a franchise that also sells take home ice cream at popular grocery retailers like Metro and IGA. You won’t be disappointed by their wide assortment of ice cream flavours and fruit sorbets.
