Longo’s and Kitchen Hub Reshape the Grocery Store Experience
Written by Deepi Harish
Kitchen Hub is Canada’s first virtual food hall to collaborate with Toronto’s top restaurants and continues to see growth in the ghost kitchen market. Longo’s (a retail chain of grocery stores) has partnered up with Kitchen Hub to give shoppers access to a mini food hall inside of the Longo’s supermarket.

“As one of the first major grocery retailers to partner with a ghost kitchen, we continue to strive to deliver on the needs of our guests. This means providing amazing meal solutions, saving them time and providing value at every turn,” says Anthony Longo, President and CEO of Longo’s.
Currently, there are four Kitchen Hub food halls in the GTA, each offering a different selection of dishes from various restaurants. Best of all, customers can mix and match their meals from all of the restaurant partners in their specific location to create the ultimate, customized takeout order.

For example, if you’re craving Chef Nuit Regular’s legendary pad thai with a side of slow baked jerk wings from Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen, steamed scallop and shrimp dumplings from Pearl Chinese Dim Sum and Mandy’s crunchy sesame salad, you can conveniently order it all from the Castlefield location.
Recently, the fourth Kitchen Hub opened up in Toronto’s Liberty Village neighbourhood and the extra fun feature at this location is that it comes furnished with a wine wall. Customers can sip on a glass of vino while grocery shopping or while waiting for their dishes to be prepared from the following restaurants: PAI, Mandy’s Gourmet Salads, Cabano’s Comfort Food and Tecolote (with Colibri).

“As takeout is constantly evolving, we are continuing to find new ways that don’t just meet consumer demands but exceed them. “While Kitchen Hub already delivers an unbelievable takeout experience, we have taken it one step further to add value to our customers by streamlining grocery pickup with takeout in a way that has never been done before. Not only has Kitchen Hub enhanced the takeout experience by partnering with Longo’s, but we’ve also eliminated another stop while increasing foot traffic in-store,” said Adam Armeland, Kitchen Hub Co-Founder and CEO.
As for the future of Kitchen Hub, they are looking to build 50 locations across Canada, including a flagship Kitchen Hub in Etobicoke with up to 15 restaurants.
